Sleeping Girl

I'm such a creeper when Nora sleeps. I just love the sweet, sleeping babies. Every chance I get I take a picture of her peaceful, sweet, innocent face.
One day I had to wake her to run to the store to check on something for a friend, but before I woke her I got to see her in all these adorable poses. Those fingers! I just want to eat her up I love her so.

The Novelty of Nora

The novelty of Nora has not yet grown old. These big brothers love her so much. And Nora just watches them and takes in all the crazy with much interest.

Devin revels in his "Devin and Nora" time and feels such pride in being able to help me with her by keeping her happy.
One day she woke up after falling asleep in the car seat. I was on the phone so I asked Devin to go keep her happy. He figured the best way to do this was to get her out of the seat. So he carefully unbuckled her and maneuvered her out of the seat so gently, then picked her up and moved her to her farm mat. I was watching through the fireplace glass and was impressed with how careful he was and how responsible he felt taking care of her. Nora has been so great for Devin and their connection is so cute. The way she looks at him is just heart melting.

Landon also loves Nora and beams every time he can get her to smile, with the pronouncement, "She smiled! She smiled!" He likes to to share his toys and kisses. He wants to kiss her so much at church that I have to ask him to stop! He loves to sing her "I am a Child of God," give her hugs, and make silly face with her. Such a sweet big brother.

And of course Mommy and Daddy are completely smitten with this sweet girl. We're just all so in love with Nora, and the spirit she brings into our home is one-of-a-kind special.

Nora at 3 Months

Oh my sakes this girl is 3 months old!
I really can't believe how fast time is going by. I got all sad when I realized that, right in line with the tags, this girl growing out of her clothes. I am not at all ready to change out Nora's clothes for bigger ones. It's just too sad!! But, despite her growing to fast, she's completely adorable and so much fun.

At three months she can officially roll from tummy to back, though she still has moments of memory loss and instead cries sadly into the floor.
She discovered the wonders that are her arms and hands and stares at them lovingly often. She can bring her two hands together and this is her new favorite thing to do so she can suck on those awesome appendages to her heart's content. This month I accidentally clipped her finger while doing her nails, which made me cry more than her, but she didn't care too much--just kept sucking on her hands!
She's starting to reach out for things, mostly on her farm mat. She smiles so much and, as her daddy says, it is the best smile. It just lights up her whole face; she gets a little bashful about the smile sometimes and ducks her head, but always she sticks out her tongue.
She LAUGHED for me for the first time on January 14, almost exactly three months, and it was the most adorable little chuckle. She has laughed for me a few more times since then, and Daddy finally got to hear her as well!
She can tell some good stories and sounds like a little bird singing, but she tends to be pretty quiet most of the time. Even when she's upset she doesn't scream very loud very often, and she's really the only baby I remember where the cry actually sounds like, "wah!" Such a content little birdie. Her least favorite thing is being in the car seat too long. She's usually okay if we're moving and doesn't cry too long when she is upset, but there are certain days when she's been in there too much that she says, "Again!? Why!?"

I still relish the morning snuggles, but they're coming less often because her wake time is pretty regular, and I am trying to get up and moving instead of falling asleep again--though I will complain a little by saying that she regressed a little in sleep.
She had slept through the night quite a few times, and would go from 9:30ish to 4:00 or 5:00 pretty regularly. Pretty much since two weeks old she's only woken once a night, but she had a growth spurt the exact weekend of her 3-month milestone and along with eating every two hours during the day, she was waking two times a night.
This growth spurt changed her daily schedule, meaning I am dream-feeding her later (around 10:00ish) and now she's waking between 2:30-3:30. Frustrating, but still pretty awesome because she'll go from this waking till our usual wake time of 7:00/30. I still love her lots, and I feel like she's doing better than the boys did at this age.
We all love this little girl and are looking forward to another wonderful month with her!

New Beds

These little cuties got some new big, big boy beds thanks to their cousins Maura and Braeden outgrowing theirs. They love their new beds and jumping on them is their new favorite thing.
They look so cute kneeling beside these tall beds; these will definitely last them for a long time!

Jesus Wants Landon for a Sunbeam

Oh, Landon was excited to be a Sunbeam. He knew he was going to get a Sunbeam cake, which only added to his desire to be in Primary. He had to wait an extra week because of Nora's baby blessing and every day for a week he woke up asking, "Do I get to go to Primary today!?" Finally, Sunday morning came, and he got to have his Sunbeam cake for breakfast, dress up all handsome, and go to Primary. His cake maybe wasn't the best looking, but he loved it, and that's all that matters.

Sacrament meeting was the longest of his life, and as soon it was over he raced down the hall to the Primary room and sat right down on his chair, beaming a huge smile. He did so well and sat so nicely, I was very impressed. We sure love this handsome little Sunbeam!

Nora's Blessing Day

Nora was blessed on January 3, 2016. Her blessing day was such a beautiful day, and Rich gave her such a wonderful blessing.

We had a lot of family there to support us and are so grateful for all the love we felt the their support of Nora.

We were lucky Great Grandma Peterson felt well enough to support Nora, and I was glad we were able to get a four-generation picture with her. We were also lucky to get a three-generation picture with Rich's mom. Unfortunately Grandma and Grandpa Britton left before pictures, so we didn't get any shots of them with Nora. I never seem to get all the pictures I want on blessing days--such crazy, wonderful days!

Nora looked so beautiful in her blessing dress that my mom made. Nora is so lucky to have this heirloom from Grandma Millett.

I was so excited to have a girl in part because I knew my mom would make a masterpiece for our cute girl. I'm beyond amazed at my mom's talents and her dedication in getting the dress done with all she had going on and with the Christmas season. It turned out amazing, and when I put it on Nora my heart just swelled because I could feel all the love that went into its creation. She also made the most adorable booties to go along with the dress. Man, Grandma Millett is amazing!

All in all it was a perfect day. We are so blessed and lucky to have this beautiful girl in our lives.

I wanted some close up pictures of the blessing dress to show how beautiful it is.
