Plank Move

Landon has been displaying his tremendous upper body strength the past week by performing a plank move. Sometimes he goes back down onto all fours, making me terrified he'll be crawling soon, but mostly he just plops back down onto his tummy, frustrated that he's only managed to move himself up and back away from his desired object.
He could be preparing to crawl, or maybe he's just trying to get himself up and off my dirty floor! I'm just telling you, vacuuming hasn't been as frequent since baby number 2 arrived. Gross.

Devin Visits the Dentist

We prepared for his first trip to the dentist by reading a Berenstain Bear book. He was really excited about the trip, but the morning of he asked if there were going to be "yankers" there like in the book. I assured him no teeth would be pulled, but I was the one who got nervous about how he would do. He did great and was just super interested in the whole experience.
He loved the "race car" toothbrush and actually let the hygienist and the dentist look inside his mouth and clean his teeth. Miracles!

Best part of his first trip to the dentist? When the hygienist asked what his favorite song was, maybe "Itsy Bitsy Spider?" Devin responded, "No, that's not my favorite. My favorite is 'I Belong to the Church.' Do you know that song?" When the hygienist responded in the negative he busted out singing it and sang the whole thing. Seriously adorable. He's a pretty good little missionary.
And he now has super shiny teeth. This was his demonstration about how he opened his mouth for the dentist.

First Brother Bath

The boys finally had their first official bath together a few weeks ago. Clearly it involved a lot of Devin trying to get water all over Landon. Surprisingly, Landon didn't mind at all water being poured directly into his eyes.
Oh, how I love little boys in hooded towels.

Grandma and Grandpa Millett Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Millett came for a visit two weekends ago to thoroughly entertain Devin and make him happier than he's been in weeks. The trip was a last-minute decision, and they weren't going to get in until after midnight, so I didn't tell Devin they were coming. Rather, I waited until he got up Saturday morning and then told him I had a surprise for him. When he saw Grandma and Grandpa he just raised his eyebrows and ran away. Once he got over his shock he couldn't stop smiling and started running in circles, trying to impress them and offering up random pieces of information, such as, "Sometimes I eat my bogies." He knows how to put on a show!

The rest of the visit was a continual show by Devin, accented with the most adorable smiles from Landon.

Does Grandpa look like he's sleeping? Don't worry, Devin woke him up, and got all a tickle torture in return.

7 Months

I cannot get enough of this little man.

Totally kiss him all day long. He likes it.
He's doubled his food intake in the past week or so. It's kind of amazing how much he eats :) He talks up a storm every once in awhile and belly laughs for his brother all the time.
He's actually been pretty grumpy the past few days. Perhaps more teeth on the horizon? But I still love his face. He hates when I walk past and don't pick him up. His life is really hard.
Happy seven months to our Landon Boy!

Devin's Collection

I don't want to forget what a great little "collector" Devin is. He's always finding treasures outside--his latest fascination being the walnuts falling from the neighbor's tree. The best part is that these collections turn into "meat" for him, being a T-Rex, to eat. After neatly arranging everything into a perfect line, he then went down the list of which kind of dinosaur each piece was, offering me a taste in the process.

He was so proud of his T-Rex collection, but was dismayed to find later in the afternoon that the birds had stolen the nuts. No worries though, we went on another treasure hunt and found some more wonderful things.
Don't mind him wearing socks with sandals; I told him that we don't do that, but he assured me that his socks did fit in his sandals so it was okay!

Double Trouble

Landon wears all of Devin's hand-me-downs (which are really Conner, Nicholas, and Cannon hand-me-downs), and this outfit brought on a flashback moment.

This is Landon at 6 months 2 weeks and Devin at 7 months. One is chubbier than the other, no? Love their faces!

Devin 2.75 Years

He likes to say stuff like, "Hey, I thought I wanted to pull down my pants all by myself. That's my favorite job!" or "Do you know that cheeto on the animal show? . . . No, it's not a cheetah; it's a cheeto, and his name is Kramer." or "Do you want to ride the Dinosaur Train with me? Come on, let's go. It's going to be fun." or "I have a hypothesis, maybe my poops is stuck." or "I'm just talking to Shiny Mama. . . . Okay. Shiny, I have to take a rest, so I can't talk anymore right now."

That pretty much sums up Devin at the moment.

Pictures Just Because

Found this gem that I'd forgotten to add to Landon's 6-month post. Obviously I needed to save it somewhere.

The following show the adorable habit Landon has of beaming up at me as soon as I walk into view. Makes feel good to know there's always someone glad I've entered the room.

Devin is, indeed, reading Landon his new library book. Landon thoroughly enjoyed Amanda and Her Alligator as told by Devin.

He Does Not Wake Well

Landon gives me stress because he is a crappy napper. And when he wakes he usually is not happy about the waking. He always has the saddest, most confused eyes.

Yes Landon, we ALL wonder why you are awake. But you're adorable. So we still love you.

Pear Festival

We headed to the Kelseyville Pear Festival on Saturday and met up with Erin and Ally. It was a hot day, but the parade was pretty good, and we had a great time visiting and watching the kids dance around.

Devin's favorite thing was the special visit to the fire engine. He thinks Ally's daddy has a super cool job.
Landon slept through a lot of the festival and never even complained about being in the stroller the whole time. He's great.

He Sits!

It's official. Our little man sits!

He still falls straight onto his head sometimes, as he has quite the noggin and on the way down it turns into dead weight, but he's loving sitting up and being able to see more of what is going on. Because there is tons of super exciting stuff going around these parts and he definitely needs to be a part of it all.

5 Years

Oh remember when we were just brand new and all twitterpated? That was fun.
But what's even better is us with 5 years on the clock, 2 kids, and a combined 30 extra pounds. It's true, we kind of rock.
We're not 100% happy all the time--mostly because I'm really bad at saying "I'm sorry." But I'm 100% happy that I married this man of mine and know I'm one lucky gal. And I was reminded of this fact, once again, when I got up on the morning of our anniversary to a beautiful rose and picture-collage card the husband created just for me.
Our anniversary celebration started 2 weeks ago with a trip to the temple, and we rounded it out with a late-night dinner at the local casino's restaurant. FANCY. Though this anniversary was a "bigger" milestone, we decided to save our money till the spring when I'm done nursing and perhaps we can sneak away for a few nights. But I did make Rich a carrot cake on Sunday night in honor of our first anniversary where I made him carrot cake to make up for the fact that I didn't save the top layer of our wedding cake. Memories!

Britton Family Little League

Since Rich is a handy daddy, he decided to make Devin a homemade tee ball stand. After it was all finished we had a family game, complete with a Landon cheerleader all dressed up in his baseball outfit.

Isn't this the best picture of the MVP?
