Lathe-ing It Up

This post is dedicated to Rich's newfound hobby: the lathe. All Rich wanted for his birthday was a lathe. It may not have a brand name, it's just affectionately called "Lathe," and you may have to manually change the belts every time you want a different motor speed, but it works great.

This is Rich working outside. He has angry eyes.

He would also like you to notice the table that the lathe is sitting on, he built it himself. He's very handy.

The first project is candlestick holders. Here are the semi-finished pieces.

These are made out of cherry wood, and Rich just needs to drill out the center holes for the candlesticks and to stain it. But I think they are so pretty right now!

I love that Rich can do things like this because he hasn't even used a lathe since junior high. Kudos to having a new hobby and to starting projects!

The Easter Bunny Came!

HAPPY EASTER!

Coloring Easter eggs is one of my most favorite Easter activities. This year was our first year coloring eggs together. PAAZ generously gave us three extra NEON colors to work with, so our eggs were destined to be amazing, and I'm pretty sure we lived up to the challenge.

The hardest part of coloring Easter eggs is coming up with something new each year. I mean, there are only so many ways to color an egg. We are very creative, however, so our eggs are, of course, the best eggs ever.

This was a sad attempt to get a picture together. I look like a floating head.

In the contest of who made the best egg, Rich won. Honestly though, how could he not win when he is so adorable and makes eggs like this one? Seriously, should we not be voted the cutest couple in all of high school? I propose that we should.

Happy Birthday Rich!

Rich is no longer a baby! Well, he will always be my baby. aw.

On the 18th we celebrated Rich's 23rd birthday. After making his favorite dinner consisting of chicken packets (cream cheese-filled crescent rolls) and corn, we had dessert. For dessert we had poke cake.

Rich loves poke cake:

He makes a wish!

Now, you're probably asking, "What in the freak is poke cake?" Well, it's white cake, with holes poked in it, and then the holes are filled with jell-o. Yes, sounds gross, and I tend to think this way myself, but it's what Rich wanted so, this is the result:

Happy Birthday Rich!

It's aliiive!

I honestly never thought I would start a blog, but then I realized that everyone else's blogs were so cute, and I decided we needed cuteness in our life! I'm not promising that I'll update regularly, nor am I promising that these posts will be interesting, but I am promising to try really hard. Good?

Okay, so, now that introductions are out of the way, we begin!
