Landon 15 Months

This little man is so much fun to be around. 

He's developed quite the personality the past little bit and understands so much more. He's actually pretty quiet, though he can talk up a storm if so inclined, but he still can throw awesome tantrums. One night he was so mad at me for making him come inside and then taking off his shirt before family prayer (it was covered in dirt) that he spent all of family prayer and scriptures over by the front door yelling and flailing, stopping every once in awhile to make sure we were still there or to play with the door stopper, because it boings. And that's cool.

 

Landon Boy at 15 months loves to drive cars and carry books around. (Actually listening to the story is another thing.) He loves music and will stop to dance to any tune. When he's really upset at your telling him "no" he pouts out his bottom lip and then covers his face with his hands. It's all very dramatic. He loves to give "high fives" and can wave and blow kisses, and he frequently claps for himself. He can say many words, but chooses not to. His response to questions is, "Yeah!" and his face beams in pride every time he says "ssss" for "please" and uses his hand sign. He jumps at the chance to go outside and cries at the door if Devin or Daddy goes out without him. He refuses to wear a hat, but thankfully he still got his daddy's skin despite his fair complexion, meaning his hair gets whiter and whiter, while his baby farmer tan gets more and more pronounced.

 

He believes it is his goal to make his brother insane by touching everything Devin holds dear--including seeking out his brother's water cup wherever it might be. He relinquishes it easily, but I swear he drinks from it just to see if he can make Devin cry. He can, by the way. He loves Devin, but sadly Devin is still quite mean to him. However, Landon is beginning to fight back, which, again, makes Devin cry. Landon is one tough boy though, meaning that I know he's really hurt when he cries for more than 5 seconds. But oh he is a sweetheart. He gives the best hugs and the most slobbery kisses. He plays peek-a-boo and giggles more than laughs. He can point to his toes, nose, and ears, and loves to find his "tummy button," and every time he shows it to you he says, "tickle, tickle." I just love to watch his expressions and he brings such joy into our home.

Weight: 25 lbs 9 oz

Height: 31 in

He's back to being above average, according to the doctor. I think he's perfectly chunky and much too heavy to carry around. We love our Landon Boy.

Bob the Builder

Oh Bob the Builder. We are all about building these days. I don't mind the Bob the Builder shows, though Devin will not watch the older clay-mation ones, so he doesn't have a lot of options. Cutest thing is when Devin wears shorts without pockets, meaning tools must be kept in his waistband, causing much sagging. At night he keeps his tools in his "workbench," which means they are hanging from his dresser's handles. Can't get enough of this boy's imagination.

How can you not enjoy the baby dancing? Landon has some rhythm and will bounce and boogie to pretty much anything.

Devin is the cutest singer I know. It still amazes me how fast he can memorize a song. I'm not sure why he was yelling during this performance, but he still sang wonderfully. He actually put on quite the performance this dinner time, and though the initial efforts were to get his Bob the Builder song on video, I thought this was the cutest one!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to Rich! He is a wonderful husband and father, and we are so lucky to have him. After our dinner, Rich headed out with the boys to watch over our homemade ice cream. 

Once it was complete, we gathered on the grass and opened Rich's super exciting present of metal shirt stays. Nothing says, "You are the light of our lives" like metal shirt stays. 

 

Landon was digging the ice cream and magically his spoon skills bumped up several levels in order to feed himself. Eventually he placed the bowl on the ground for easier eating, and his foot ended up in the bowl. No matter, he continued on, and when he was done with his he tried to steal some from Devin. Devin equally enjoyed the ice cream, but I think he enjoyed the post-dessert spray down even more. And yes, most of the Father's Day pictures I took were of Landon eating ice cream (there are 50 more I didn't post). So, thank you Rich for giving me Landon, because I love his chubby face. 

 

 

 

And it is nigh impossible to get a picture with both children looking at the camera, so out of the five pictures I took, this is the best we could manage. 

 

Shocking I know. I mean, Devin is SO SERIOUS. But maybe he was like, "Dude, totally serious about my love for Daddy." or maybe he was like, "They threatened to take away my story unless I sat here and pretended to be filled with family love, so I shall sit here, but I shall not smile." At any rate, love the baby daddy. Happy Father's Day!

In case you were wondering, you (I'm talking to the 5 people who still read my blog) should probably make this ice cream sometime this summer (we used base 1). Super delicious. We turned it into Almond Joy ice cream with chocolate, almonds, and some toasted coconut. Yum.

Middletown Days Parade

Parade fun on a Saturday morning. 

We were able to cheer on some ward members and were successful in keeping Landon from getting stepped on by a horse, even though this meant him crying for several minutes because I put him back into the stroller. Rage, I tell you. Rage. Devin told me his favorite part was the firetrucks. And getting candy, though he was disappointed there weren't any tractors in this parade. Him asking me every 5 seconds where the tractors were never got old. Mostly there are just pictures of the boys pointing at things. After the parade we thought a little bit about going to the rodeo, but we didn't. Because we're boring, and also because Landon was asleep approximately 35 seconds after being strapped into the car. Yay for Middletown Days!

Fun with Grandma and Grandpa

I got a few wonderful pictures of the fun Landon and Devin were able have while Grandma and Grandpa were here. The pictures will just have to speak for themselves.

Monday with Grandma and Grandpa Millett

Devin and Landon got one more day with Grandma and Grandpa after Rich and I got back from Tahoe. It was evident how much fun the boys had while we were gone. These are just some of the pictures from the iPhones. Pictures from the time we were gone will have to come later, but I wanted to remember some of these cute shots. Landon really became attached to Grandpa, especially, which was super cute to watch.
